What is LED Light Therapy?

LED (Light Emitting Diode) therapy is a skin treatment that uses varying wavelengths of light to treat a variety of skin concerns. NASA originally developed it for plant growth experiments on shuttle missions and later found it to have promise for wound treatment. LED Light Therapy is now used by aestheticians to help regenerate the skin from ageing and to help treat acne. It can be combined with other skin care treatments such as chemical peels and skin needling to achieve optimal results.

The light therapies used to treat skin concerns

RED

RED Light therapy works like a soft laser, targeting cells beneath the skin's surface and stimulating them to produce new collagen. It also helps to reduce inflammation while improving circulation.

BLUE

BLUE Light therapy kills acne-causing bacteria to drastically decreases its appearance. The light targets sebaceous (oil) glands to make them less active and promotes anti-inflammatory effects on the skin.

GREEN

GREEN Light therapy inhibits the production of melanin in the cells that cause pigmentation, resulting in a more even complexion and leaves your skin rejuvenated.

YELLOW

YELLOW Light therapy is effective in treating any skin concern that causes redness. Ideal for sensitive skin, it can also improve hyperpigmentation and revitalise the skin by increasing the flow of nutrients in the cells.
